Duties
* Transport elderly and disabled passengers safely, assist them door-to-door, load & unload both passengers and belongings.
* Transport ill or injured passengers from home to and from healthcare facilities.
* Demonstrate top-notch customer service skills.
* Loading and securing manual wheelchair or power wheelchairs with securement anchors.
* Instruct and assist passengers with cognitive, visual, or physical disabilities to safely load and unload from the vehicle.
* Follow schedule, GPS, other company apps, and report regularly to dispatch.
* Be willing to drive across counties.
* Effectively and politely communicate with customers, team members, and management.
* Maintain vehicle interior and exterior cleanliness and arrange for vehicle services as needed.
* Report mechanical issues immediately
* Complete all required docs and maintenance records clearly and accurately daily.
* Participate in training and educational opportunities.
* Follow all Driving laws.
Skills / Qualifications
* Safety and security minded, able to read and use GPS & other apps
* Reliable, energetic, customer service/team oriented, excellent communicator, efficient with time management
* Demonstrate flexibility, solution-finding and efficient time management skills
* Able to lift (up to 70 lbs.
), or carry, push, and pull people in wheelchairs up to 400 lbs.
* Able to stoop, bend, reach, walk long distances, climb steps, and enter/exit vehicle multiple times a day.
* Required: Current CPR/First Aid Cert, and other NEMT required certifications (Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity training, NSC Defensive Driving Training, and Passenger Services and Safety check- off)
Minimum Requirements (NOTE: Not meeting any of these will disqualify you from service)
* Must be 23 years of age with a minimum of 2 years of uninterrupted driving experience
* Pass Federal Criminal Background Check (*NO FELONY CONV.
PAST 10 Years!)*
* Less than 2 moving violations on driver’s record within the last 7 years
* No more than 1 accident on drivers record within the last 7 years
* Pass initial Forensic Drug Test, be willing/able to submit to random drug testing
* Own and efficient with use of smart phone device
